Hello guys,
Firstly "Earth day 2020" wishes to you all. We are in a juncture of our lives where social distancing is the only way to keep ourselves, our communities and ultimately our human race safe, thanks to the outbreak of Covid 19. Let's be responsible. Stay home and stay safe :)
Now let's move into our discussion..
It's an undeniable fact that human activity is causing our planet to warm at an alarming rate. Climate change, yes it's malignating our mother earth. The global bodies of scientists have warned that we have just over a decade to halve our emissions to avoid the most disastrous impacts of climate change on our food production & supply, national security, global health, public welfare, and more.
We have wasted enough time and this 2020 is a key turning point for our planet, so let's wake up atleast now. We need an urgent and ambitious action at every level, from the global leaders submitting increased national commitments to the Paris Agreement on climate change, to private sector leaders addressing climate change at every step of the supply chain, finance heads committing to divest from fossil fuels and green their investments and individual citizens using their unique influence to drive change and make an impact.
Every person has the ability to do atleast a little to fight this climate challenge. What can we actually do ??
Let information flourish :
An Anonymous proverb says : "Knowledge is power" – so firstly learn more about the science behind our climate challenge and the responsibility of all the sectors that needs to be taken collectively. Add your voice to the issues that are shaping the climate debate as well as emerging, evidence-based data that directly relates to changes in our climate.
Let's be accountable :
Take a personal inventory of your own personal impact on the planet – remember, if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.

Let's target Power efficiency :
Try maximum to use renewable sources for power generation. Unplug electrical equipment when they aren’t in use, buy goods with high energy-efficient standards. All of these can help to reduce your personal impact on climate change.
Let's use Public transportation :
Restrict usage of personal vehicles and opt for public transportation. Travel smart by Considering cycling or walking when ever it's possible. So what are the benifits of this ? Makes you healthy on one side along with being economical and helps you turn eco friendly on the other side ;)
Let's Reduce Food wastage :
In India we believe that food is incarnation of lord bramha, the creator god. Foodwaste is an enormous ‘hidden’ contributor to climate change. In fact, if global food waste were a country, it would be the third largest greenhouse gas emitter, behind China and the U.S. The carbon footprint of this wasted food is about 3.3 billion tons of CO2. Luckily, there has never been a better time to join efforts to reduce our carbon footprint through food choices. Enjoy more plant-based meals, reduce your food waste altogether, and compost your food scraps.
Let's have a smarter shopping approach :
While purchasing goods from different sources let's opt for reusable items to reduce waste. Your power as a consumer can be enormously impactful. So let's make that impact.
Let's use our vote properly :
Voting is a constitutional right that we are privileged to have. Your vote can play an important part in making the change. Every vote counts. Though it seems like an endless sea of people are there to vote, every vote counts. When the national attitude changes from thinking “my vote doesn’t make a difference”, then the numbers increase and a multitude of people voting will make the difference. The responsibility lies on every individual. Let's vote for those who are clear, ambitious, and convincing plans to protect our planet.
Let's bring Investments in to play :
When it comes to climate change, money talks. Let's increase the exposure among the individuals to invest more in the companies producing clean energy than those companies which relay on fossil fuels.
Instead of thinking about moving on to the moon or the mars hope our governments concentrate on making our home, the earth sustainable for the upcoming generations. Climate change is not a hoax, it's real. It's real, the earth is suffering. It's real, that climate change is hurting lives of billions. It's real, many species of flora and fauna are going extinct. Let's fight against this. Let's give the next generation a better air to breathe, clean water to drink and quality food to eat.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money.
Wake up before the end game is initiated !!
